We seem to have moved in a single weekend from late winter
to the torpor of high summer! A longish walk today saw no sign of migrants on the
move but plenty more territorial birds with singing Blackcaps particularly numerous.
My youngest son had stuck a stick into the mud near the ‘wader’
pool the other evening. It has very quickly been taken over as a Yellow Wagtail
song post…
I inadvertently flushed a total of six hares on the walk
although this one stayed long enough to allow one quick photo…
This might be the last walk along this route for a while as both the decidedly dodgy wooden bridge...
and metal one are being repaired/replaced.
In the Magic Garden the Canada’s have hatched five goslings…
The year’s first Brimstone butterfly was also in the garden along
with this Toad…
